WELCOME TO MY HOUSE
My name is Mayerly and this is my home. It is located in the barrio of “La Playa” near the Cauca River in the city of Cali, Colombia. I am 12 years old and I am in grade 6. I live with my mother, Hilda, my three small brothers, my aunt Abigail, my three cousins and my step father, Eleicer. We all live in the same house. My mother, Hilda, works as a street vendor selling fish and fruit; my step father delivers sand in the city limits. They both work so that we have the necessary daily food and other necessities. There are 10 people in all in my home. The small children, my brothers and cousins, study in public schools. I have the privilege of studying in the Institute of Our Lady of the Assumption, thanks to the Basilian Fathers and persons like you who purchase Saint Basil coffee.
